About Jules Reagan
I’m Jules Reagan—photographer, historian, and storyteller of the American West.
My work is rooted in small places: rural towns, high desert villages, forgotten settlements, and the old churches that still stand at their center. These are places shaped by land, faith, labor, and time—often overlooked, rarely hurried, and deeply human.
Through photography, long-form video, and quiet narration, I document Western history as it exists now: weathered, layered, and still present. I focus especially on historic churches, not as monuments, but as witnesses—structures that have outlasted boom and decline, holding memory even when communities change or disappear.
All of the imagery you see here is my own. All narration is recorded in my own voice. I work slowly and intentionally, favoring accuracy, atmosphere, and restraint over spectacle or speed. My projects are grounded in historical research, field photography, and direct observation—often gathered on back roads and in places where silence still has weight.
This site brings together my photography, writing, and film projects, including my YouTube channels, where I create long-form quiet history and sleep-ready storytelling. These works are designed not only to inform, but to calm—to offer a slower way of engaging with history, landscape, and place.
I believe history doesn’t always need to be loud to be meaningful. Sometimes it only needs space to breathe.
Welcome.
